Chris Ekstein is an award-winning Director with over fifteen years of experience in film, television and advertising. After completing his BFA at Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, Chris worked as an assistant cameraman for Comedy Central’s hit show, Strangers with Candy starring Amy Sedaris and Stephen Colbert (The Late Show).
New York gained him acceptance into the MFA Cinematography Fellowship at the American Film Institute. In 2016, Ekstein wrote and directed The Weight of Blood and Bones starring Jason Patric, Danny Trejo, and Rose McGowan which premiered at Palm Springs International Film Festival and won a Best Directing Award at Action on Film. Chris has been working as a director, cinematographer, and producer with distinctive brands, advertising agencies and studios such as Warner Bros., The Jim Henson Company, Condé Nast, and American Airlines.
Ekstein has received the Panavision New Filmmakers Grant, Alfred P Slone Foundation Grant, Eastman Kodak Grant, and Best Cinematography at the American International Film Festival and a Telly Award for Directing. Chris Ekstein is fluent in French and is a duel citizen.
