Bengali-born, Virginia-raised *Shomi Patwary has worked with artists from Beyoncé to Diplo to Skrillex to Mark Ronson.
Self-taught and motivated to serve the artists that inspire him, Shomi Patwary is a media production maven. Toting a skillset that spans across graphic and web design, music production, and of course video creation, Shomi covers all grounds when it comes to audiovisuals. Whether he’s directing, editing, coloring or doing the cinematography, Shomi leaves his abstract and left-field mark on any project that comes his way.
In 2014, Shomi joined the editorial team at the FADER magazine. At the FADER he oversaw all video production as Senior Video Producer. Shomi is a frequent collaborator with A$AP Mob, having directed 13 music videos for the group, from A$AP Rocky’s ‘Multiply’ to A$AP Ferg’s ‘New Level’ to A$AP Mob’s ‘Yamborghini High’. Patwary’s more recent endeavors break from his music videos, teaming up with the Noisey and Aluna George to document her work outside of music by creating a visual art space. He also directed World of Macintosh’s first web commercial spot, an Italian luxury heritage brand specializing in audio. One of his most recent music videos, Belly and The Weeknd’s ‘Might Not’, received 3 Much Music Video Award nominations, including 2016 music video of the year.
