Charley Stadler

Charley Stadler has directed more than 200 commercials for some of the biggest global brands like Microsoft, McDonalds, Toyota, Snickers, Adidas, Ford, Allianz, Garnier and Porsche. He also directed eight US Pentagon psychological awareness films for the education of Arabic youth as well as music promos and short movies.  Charley’s first short movie ACHT won the Goethe Institute best German film in 1997.  Charley has received over 100 international directing awards, including Cannes, Epica, ADC, Bessies, ICAD, Golden Drum and numerous Gold medals. He’s worked with Sean Connery, Sharon Stone, Billy Zane and Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr.  His latest shoot for Moscow Credit Bank was globally received as one of the most controversial commercials of 2016.  Also in 2016, Filestage named Charley one of the 50 top commercial directors in the world. BBDO’s Head of TV calls him “Germany‘s Golden Boy” and “Who’s Who” lists Charley in its book of most influential creative people. Shots has listed Charley more than any other German International Director. In 2017, he became a jury member for the UK Casting Directors Association.

Charley directed/co-wrote the $15 Million feature film “Dead Fish”, starring Oscar nominees Gary Oldman (Dracula, 5th Element) and Terence Stamp (The Limey, Superman), as well as Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting,The Full Monty, James Bond) and Spanish actress Elena Anaya (Almodovar’s – In the Skin I Live In). He’s currently in development for a big budget sci-fi action movie out of London.

Charley received a Masters Degree in visual communications. He began his career shooting for magazines such as Face and MAX (Covers), the brand Big Star Jeans and band Metallica. He has been a principal in Munich based GAP films for twenty years. UTA represents Charley for feature films.
